Get the right paper before you print
Start with a preset, or adjust the sheet for the way you write. Every option here makes the same kind of sheet people look for as printable lined paper or lined pages printable: evenly ruled lines on a plain white page. College ruled paper leaves more lines for notes. Wide ruled paper gives larger handwriting more room. A custom spacing lets you set the distance between lines in millimeters. Choose Letter for a US printer tray, or A4 for a printer loaded with A4 paper.
The preview and download use the same settings. PDF downloads can contain 1–100 copies of your sheet; a PNG download contains one page. For the intended line spacing, match the printer paper size to the file and select 100% or Actual size. Print a test page before making a larger batch.

How can I create my own lined paper?

Does Word have a template for lined paper?
Word’s template gallery includes some lined and notebook-style templates, and you can also draw lines with a table or paragraph borders. This site does not make a Word file. It downloads a print-ready PDF or PNG, so the line spacing stays the same when you print at 100%.
What is lined writing paper called?
Lined paper is also called ruled paper or notebook paper. It is usually described by its line spacing: wide ruled (about 11/32 to 3/8 inch), college ruled (9/32 inch), and narrow ruled (1/4 inch).
Is the lined paper free to download?
Yes. You can customize a sheet and download a PDF with 1 to 100 pages, or a single-page PNG, without creating an account.
Why do my printed lines look smaller than the preview?
Your print dialog may be shrinking the file to fit the printable area. Match the paper size and select 100% or Actual size. Printer hardware can still leave an unprinted border.
